Volleyball Recap: Reed-Custer Gets the Win

Reed-Custer hadn't done well against Sandwich recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Comets walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Indians. The Comets were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Indians, so the Comets were just returning the favor.

While Reed-Custer won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 26-24.

Mackenzie Foote paced Reed-Custer's offense, picking up six kills. Foote got some help from Madelynn Marschner and her 13 assists. Miley Morris and Alyssa Wollenzien kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Reed-Custer's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-11. As for Sandwich, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Reed-Custer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Plano on the 13th. As for Sandwich, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Indian Creek on the 13th.
