Basketball Recap: Storm Lake St. Mary Takes a Loss

Storm Lake St. Mary was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 27th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the West Bend-Mallard Wolverines, falling 63-19. The Panthers lost against the Wolverines in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 86-17 score last time.

Storm Lake St. Mary's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for West Bend-Mallard, the win snapped their losing streak at four games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-3 record.

Storm Lake St. Mary is taking a road trip to square off against Ar-We-Va at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for West Bend-Mallard, they will welcome Northwood-Kensett at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Northwood-Kensett will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something West Bend-Mallard surely won't give up without a fight.
