Softball Game Preview: Crenshaw Christian Academy Cougars vs. Evangel Christian Lightning

The Crenshaw Christian Academy Cougars will take on the Evangel Christian Lightning in a tournament on Thursday. Crenshaw Christian Academy will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Two weeks ago, Crenshaw Christian Academy needed a bit of extra time to put away Fort Dale Academy. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Eagles 7-6.

Meanwhile, Evangel Christian had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Warriors as they made off with a 13-1 win. Considering the Lightning have won ten matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Raylee Evans was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Makayla Cranford, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI and two runs.

Evangel Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .360 or higher in five consecutive games.

Crenshaw Christian Academy's record is now 6-0. As for Evangel Christian, their record now sits at 14-5.
