East is 7-2 against Sun Valley since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Vikings will be playing at home against the Vanguards at 4:00 p.m. The timing is sure in East's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Sun Valley has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.

Friday just wasn't the day for East's offense. They came up short against Coatesville on Friday, falling 7-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Vikings have suffered since March 22nd.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sun Valley). They had just enough and edged out Unionville 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vanguards have posted against the Longhorns since April 25, 2022.

Jackson Messick made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ryan Messick was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Max Bartholf also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Sun Valley's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-11. As for East, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

East took their win against Sun Valley when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0 score. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vanguards turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
