Volleyball Recap: Escalante Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Escalante and Monument Valley squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Escalante had to settle for second. They fell 2-0 to the Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 last Saturday.

Taylie Carlisle paced Escalante's offense, picking up four kills. Carlisle got some help from Rylee Frei and her four assists.

Escalante has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season. As for Monument Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10-1 record this season.

Escalante does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Monument Valley, they will face off against Altamont at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
