Basketball Preview: Grant County Braves vs. Walton-Verona Bearcats
The Grant County Braves and the Walton-Verona Bearcats will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Grant County has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while the Bearcats will arrive with three straight victories.
Last Saturday, Grant County ended up a good deal behind the Pioneers and lost 58-40. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Grant County has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Walton-Verona can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent match on Saturday. They blew past Williamstown 76-54.
Grant County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Walton-Verona, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.
Grant County didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Bearcats when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 80-76 victory.
