Basketball Recap: Dr. Krop Takes a Loss

Dr. Krop played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Central Rockets, falling 103-63. The loss continues a trend for the Lightning in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now lost seven in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Dr. Krop lost, don't look at Johans Richards. Despite the final result, he went 10 for 20 on his way to 22 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Christ Victorin, who posted five points in addition to six assists and five boards.

Even though they lost, Dr. Krop was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Marlon Gaitan out in front who went 9 of 13 from beyond the arc on his way to 34 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Keri Foster, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 16 points along with eight assists and eight steals.

Dr. Krop's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Central, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dr. Krop will head out to face off against Coral Park at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central, they will venture away from home to take on Miami Beach at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matches -- so hopefully Miami Beach likes a good challenge.
