Baseball Game Preview: Sandia Prep Sundevils vs. Bosque Bobcats

The Sandia Prep Sundevils will face off against the Bosque Bobcats at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bosque took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Sandia Prep, who comes in off a win.

Sandia Prep took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Ruidoso, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Sundevils had just enough and edged out the Warriors 10-9 on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Jonas Mahboub was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lucas Ruelas, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Bosque came up short against Dexter on Tuesday, falling 16-5.

Tas Lupo was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. Adan Mulkey also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Bosque's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Sandia Prep, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-6.
