Basketball Game Preview: East Central Trojans vs. Decatur Central Hawks

The East Central Trojans will take on the Decatur Central Hawks in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Thursday, East Central lost to Columbus North on the road by a 56-41 margin. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Bull Dogs are ranked 31st).

Meanwhile, Decatur Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a blow against Franklin Central, falling 62-23. The game marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Decatur Central's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for East Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.
