Recap: Spring Valley Grizzlies vs. Democracy Prep Agassi Campus Blue Knights
After flying high against the Las Vegas Wildcats last Thursday, the Spring Valley Grizzlies came back down to earth. Spring Valley took a 45-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Democracy Prep Agassi Campus on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Spring Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Democracy Prep Agassi Campus is ranked fifth).
Spring Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mia Ervin, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Charolette Delisle, who scored nine points.
Spring Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Democracy Prep Agassi Campus, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Spring Valley won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Palo Verde at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. As for Democracy Prep Agassi Campus, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Desert Oasis at 6:30 p.m. Desert Oasis has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 25.
