Baseball Recap: Shiprock Chieftains vs. Kirtland Central Broncos

Shiprock lost against Kirtland Central on April 2nd, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Shiprock Chieftains lost 16-6 to the Kirtland Central Broncos. Shiprock has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Kirtland Central's part, Talon Dee looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Dee has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Jay Tsosie was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with a home run, six RBI, and three runs. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Demusico Edsitty, who scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

As for Kirtland Central, they are on the road again on Tuesday to play Bloomfield at 4:00 p.m. Kirtland Central will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
