Baseball Recap: Southwestern Comes Up Short

Southwestern made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Cuba City, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Wildcats fell just short of the Cubans by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Wildcats have suffered since April 15th.

Southwestern has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Cuba City, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-7.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Southwestern will face off against rival Iowa-Grant at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Cuba City is set to square off against their familiar foe Riverdale at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
