Basketball Game Preview: Grace Lutheran Royals vs. Leadore Mustangs

The Grace Lutheran Royals and the Leadore Mustangs will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grace Lutheran will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Last Thursday, Grace Lutheran didn't have too much trouble with North Gem as they won 46-28.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Leadore). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 59-32 win over North Gem. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Mustangs have posted since December 2, 2023.

Leadore found their leader in sophomore Dane Piippo, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. Piippo's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jared Ramsey, who posted eight points and 12 rebounds.

Leadore smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Grace Lutheran's win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-0. As for Leadore, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
