The Eastern Wayne Warriors will head out to take on the Goldsboro Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eastern Wayne is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4 goals per game this season.

Eastern Wayne is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering North Johnston just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 6-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers.

Eastern Wayne hit North Johnston with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Elysa Manuel (2), Jayla Woodard, and Akayla (Kay) Rodriguez.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Goldsboro, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Spring Creek on Tuesday.

Goldsboro's win bumped their record up to 3-11-4. As for Eastern Wayne, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-4-1.

Eastern Wayne took their victory against Goldsboro in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
