Softball Game Preview: Laurel Hill Hoboes vs. Baker Gators

Laurel Hill is 0-9 against Baker since February of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Hoboes will welcome the Gators at 6:00 p.m. Laurel Hill knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Baker likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Laurel Hill got the win against East Hill Christian by a conclusive 14-4. The Hoboes haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Brylee McLeod spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on one hit. Those earned runs marked the first that she tossed this season.

On the hitting side, Savannah Riley was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Andrea Barnhill, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Baker fell victim to Milton and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 9-0.

Baker's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Laurel Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.
