Volleyball Recap: Newman Takes a Loss

Newman and Cambridge squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Newman had to settle for second. They came up short against the Gryphons, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Cambridge this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-12, 25-13.

Cambridge had a senior duo take command as Sofia Shultz had 17 digs and Fatimata Barboza had five digs and four aces.

Newman's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Cambridge, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.

Newman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cambridge, they will head out to challenge Covenant Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
