Baseball Recap: Woonsocket Continues Road Dominance on Wednesday

Woonsocket had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Tiverton Tigers by a score of 4-1. Surprisingly, this marked the Villa Novans' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Braylon Guilbeault spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Woonsocket's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Joseph Greenless, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Woonsocket pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Tiverton, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woonsocket will host North Smithfield at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Villa Novans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Northmen have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Tiverton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Davies Career & Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
