Baseball Recap: Orange Beach Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Orange Beach fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Arab on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Arab Knights by a score of 8-7. One positive for the Makos, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Joel Chandler made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Hood, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Orange Beach's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Arab, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season.

Orange Beach will challenge Mortimer Jordan at 11:00 a.m. on March 22nd. As for Arab, they will head out to square off against Lawrence County at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Arab is facing Lawrence County at the right time seeing as Lawrence County is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
