Stillwater had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Sapulpa Chieftains. This was payback for the Pioneers, who suffered a 15-5 loss the last time these two teams met.

Stillwater's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Sapulpa, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-15.

Stillwater didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 31-0 win against Grant on the 8th. As for Sapulpa, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Bartlesville on the 9th.
