            Volleyball Recap: Berkeley Yellowjackets vs. Alameda Hornets        
        
		
        
        
            Berkeley had won two straight road games  and  Neko Ikels did her part to make it three on Thursday. The Yellowjackets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  3-2  win over the Alameda Hornets  thanks in part to  Ikels, who  had 21  digs and two  aces. She has been hot, having  posted ten or more  digs the last five times she's  played.
 Berkeley was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-20, 19-25, 25-18,  15-11.

Leading Berkeley to victory were  Rubi Silva and  Corinna Leaf.  Silva  hit 71.4% for five  kills and 16  digs and three  aces, while  Leaf  had ten  kills, eight  digs,  and two  aces. That's the most  kills  Leaf has posted since back in October of 2024.  Sasha Slaughter also deserves some recognition as  she  served her first  aces of the season.
 They weren't the only good servers: Berkeley  was lethal from the service line and  finished the match with 11  aces. They are  a perfect 4-0 when  they serve at least ten aces.
Berkeley now  has a winning record of 7-6. As for Alameda, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.
 Berkeley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  3-1  victory against Castro Valley on the 7th. As for Alameda, they have also already played their next matchup,  a  3-2  win against Encinal on the 7th.
