Soccer Game Preview: Archbishop Alter vs. Carroll

The Archbishop Alter Knights will head out to challenge the Carroll Patriots at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Archbishop Alter will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Archbishop Alter proved they can win big on Monday (they won by four) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Kings 1-0. Give Archbishop Alter's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Alison Link, who's now up to three this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Carroll was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Badin. The defeat continues a trend for Carroll in their meetings with Badin: they've now lost seven in a row.

Archbishop Alter's win bumped their record up to 9-1-3. As for Carroll, they now have a losing record of 5-6-2.

Archbishop Alter was able to grind out a solid victory over Carroll in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
