Soccer Game Preview: Jacobs vs. Crystal Lake South

The Jacobs Golden Eagles will take on the Crystal Lake South Gators at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Jacobs is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Jacobs fell victim to Dundee-Crown and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 4-0 to the Chargers. While losing is never fun, Jacobs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while Dundee-Crown are ranked 36th).

Meanwhile, Crystal Lake South kept a clean sheet against Cary-Grove on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Trojans 1-0. Pierce Johnson had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Crystal Lake South.

Jacobs' loss dropped their record down to 3-11-2. As for Crystal Lake South, their victory ended a four-match drought at home and bumped them up to 8-8-1.
