Baseball Game Preview: Jackson Vikings vs. Tecumseh Indians

For the second straight game, Jackson will face off against Tecumseh. The Vikings will challenge the Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Jackson is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Jackson lost 13-1 to Tecumseh on Monday.

For Tecumseh's part, Tyler Clement tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave Clement a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Palmer Ziemer and Bryan Covel did most of the damage at the plate: Ziemer went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one double, while Covel earned two RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two RBI gave Covel a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Connor Bullinger, who earned two RBI and two runs.

Tecumseh is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Jackson, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.
