Basketball Recap: Gateway Falls to Mountain House in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Gateway unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by the Mountain House Mustangs and fell 94-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Gators have suffered since December 20, 2024.

Despite the loss, Gateway still got an impressive performance from Wyatt Grundland-Lanuza, who shot 63% from the field to rack up 15 points. Another player making a difference was Hasaan Parker Abram, who posted 11 points.

Mountain House's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chhandler Chhor led the charge by putting up 14 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Major, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 13 points and eight boards.

Gateway has already played their next game, a 77-58 defeat against Brave Christian on the 22nd. As for Mountain House, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 69-66 loss against Deer Valley on the 22nd.
