Soccer Recap: Nimitz Comes Up Short

Nimitz was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the MacArthur Generals, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 680th, while the Generals are ranked 327th).

Nimitz's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for MacArthur, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nimitz will venture away from home to challenge Westfield at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for MacArthur, they will head out to take on Aldine at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. MacArthur knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Aldine likes a good challenge.
