Softball Recap: Langley's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After only one run in their last match, Langley made sure to put some runs up on the board against Washington-Liberty on Tuesday. The Saxons put the hurt on the Generals with a sharp 10-1 victory. Considering the Saxons have won three contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Norah Jacques made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 18 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one triple, one double, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Caitlin Hohenthaner was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Ali Glantzis was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Langley moved to 6-4 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Washington-Liberty, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Coming up, Langley will head out to take on George C. Marshall at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Washington-Liberty, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Yorktown at 6:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
