Mescalero Apache and Capitan are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but not for long. The Mescalero Apache Chiefs are taking a road trip to challenge the Capitan Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mescalero Apache has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.

Last Saturday, Mescalero Apache strolled past Cloudcroft with points to spare, taking the game 52-37.

Meanwhile, Capitan lost to Lordsburg on the road by a 51-36 margin on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Mavericks: they've now lost four in a row.

Capitan's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Mescalero Apache, their victory bumped their record up to 13-9.

Mescalero Apache came up short against Capitan in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 44-40. Can Mescalero Apache avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
