Basketball Recap: Eastern Hills' Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Eastern Hills extended their winning streak to eight games thanks to a huge performance from Messiah Miller. The Eastern Hills Highlanders simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Western Hills Cougars 71-38 thanks in part to Miller, who went 12 of 24 en route to 28 points along with seven assists and six steals. His evening made it 15 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Dorian Johnson was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. He is becoming a predictor of Eastern Hills' success: when he posts at least ten rebounds the team is 12-4 (and 2-3 when he doesn't).

Eastern Hills is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points per game. As for Western Hills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 17 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.

Coincidentally, Eastern Hills and Western Hills will both be playing Benbrook the next time they take the court. Western Hills will head out to face Benbrook at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Eastern Hills will host them at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th.
