Basketball Recap: Chaputnguak Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Falesefulu Mau and Felagai Laumea

Chaputnguak was the 39-34 winner over Non Varsity Tournament Opponent when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Chaputnguak Shaman took a 59-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Non Varsity Tournament Opponent. The Shaman have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chaputnguak's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Felagai Laumea, who posted 19 points, and Falesefulu Mau, who scored 18 points. Those 18 points gave Mau a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Placid John, who put up ten points.

Chaputnguak's loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Chaputnguak does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Non Varsity Tournament Opponent, they will square off against Rhode Island School for the Deaf on Friday.
