Baseball Recap: Perry Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Perry can bid farewell to their 18-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Bentley Bulldogs with a sharp 16-7 victory. The matchup marked the Ramblers' most dominant win of the season.

Nolan Krupp made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Patrick, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Perry's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 2-22 when he doesn't). Brady Burns was another key player, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs.

Perry's record is now 4-23. As for Bentley, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Perry beat the Bulldogs by a score of 10-2 later that day.
