Baseball Recap: Rincon/University Takes a Loss

If Rincon/University was feeling good fresh off their 9-2 takedown of St. Augustine Catholic last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rincon/University Rangers came up short against the El Paso Tigers on Friday, falling 12-4. The loss was the Rangers' first of the season.

Mauro Wilson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Milo Fox, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one double.

Having lost for the first time this season, Rincon/University fell to 2-1. As for El Paso, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-7 record.

Coming up, Rincon/University will take on Douglas at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for El Paso, they will face off against Sunnyside at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
