Recap: Brook Hill Guard vs. Prince of Peace Eagles
The Brook Hill Guard waltzed into their matchup Tuesday with five straight wins but they left with six. They snuck past Prince of Peace with a 40-34 win. The team accrued 29 points in the first half and coasted on those for the win.
Brook Hill can attribute much of their success to Lila Morris, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Morris scored 15 or more points. Brenna Hill was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Prince of Peace saw an underclassman step up: Aria Jefferson scored 26 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Jefferson scored a full 76.5% of Prince of Peace's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Brook Hill is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Prince of Peace, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Brook Hill will head out on the road to face off against All Saints Episcopal at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. All Saints Episcopal will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1319th, while Brook Hill is ranked 459th). As for Prince of Peace, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Vanguard College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Vanguard College Prep has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
