Basketball Game Preview: Compass Academy Cougars vs. Grape Creek Eagles

The Compass Academy Cougars just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Grape Creek Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Compass Academy will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak dating back to last season.

On Monday, Compass Academy made easy work of Pecos and carried off a 67-44 win. Fans of the Cougars have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Compass Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andrew Bowling, who posted 15 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Hogan, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Compass Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in four consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Grape Creek faced off against Veribest on Tuesday. The Eagles fell 52-43 to the Falcons. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost six in a row.

Compass Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Grape Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
