Basketball Recap: Pleasant Grove Comes Up Short

Pleasant Grove was the 60-58 winner over Lehi when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Pleasant Grove Vikings fell 50-42 to the Lehi Pioneers on Friday. The Vikings just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Pleasant Grove lost, don't look at Tabi Clark. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine boards. Clark's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Cash Connors, who posted four points and eight rebounds.

Ellie Hill was the offensive standout of the contest as she went 5-for-11 to rack up 12 points and four steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in December of 2024. Mckenzie Jepson was another key player, putting up seven points along with five boards and three steals.

Pleasant Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Lehi, their victory bumped their record up to 13-10.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Pleasant Grove will challenge Layton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pleasant Grove is facing Layton at the right time seeing as Layton is stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Lehi, they will square off against Davis at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
