Basketball Recap: Jaidyn Wesley Key Part of a Team Effort in Cowboys Win

After losing to Leon the last time they met, Madison County decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Madison County Cowboys came out on top against the Leon Lions by a score of 57-46 on Monday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Madison County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaidyn Wesley, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten assists. Those ten assists gave Wesley a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja?Niyah Livingston, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 16 points and three steals.

Madison County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in seven consecutive matchups.

Madison County has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Leon, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-11.

Madison County will square off against Taylor County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Leon, they will face off against Wakulla at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
