Softball Recap: Wayne Eagles vs. Newark Reds

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Palmyra-Macedon, Wayne was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Newark Reds. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Reds recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Lauren VanAllen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Gianna DiPaul was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jesse Newmyer, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Wayne was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
