Basketball Recap: Nina Wilson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lynnwood over Shorewood

Lynnwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. 2025 welcomed they with a 70-46 loss courtesy of the Shorewood Stormrays. The Royals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Stormrays apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Lynnwood lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Nina Wilson, who posted 16 points. That was a full 34.8% of Lynnwood's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shifa Hanchinamani, who had 14 points.

Lynnwood's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Shorewood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.

Lynnwood will welcome Meadowdale at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Lynnwood is facing Meadowdale at the right time seeing as Meadowdale is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Shorewood, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 51-50 loss against Monroe on the 6th.
