Arleta's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 41-0 win over Chavez. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won eight in a row.
Jose Rosas produced another solid effort rushing for 87 yards and two TDs, while also picking up 47 receiving yards and one touchdown. Another big playmaker for Arleta was Ethan Lillingston, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Arleta, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Lillingston, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Arleta didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Lillingston and Robert Howze. Howze got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for North Hollywood, as they earned their first away win of the season. They were the clear victors by a 38-16 margin over Verdugo Hills on Friday. The Huskies pushed the score to 31-8 by the end of the third, a deficit the Dons cut but never quite recovered from.
Arleta better keep an eye on GAVEN ZAMORA. He was instrumental in North Hollywood's win, rushing for 200 yards and three scores on only 14 carries. With that strong performance, ZAMORA is now averaging an impressive 105 rushing yards per game. JOSIAH TAYLOR was another key player, rushing for 70 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: North Hollywood was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 450 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Arleta, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Arleta has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 243.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like North Hollywood struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 292 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Arleta was dealt a bruising 49-14 loss at the hands of North Hollywood in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Mustangs were down 35-7.
