Izard County had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Westside Rebels a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by eight runs or more this season.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Izard County, bringing their record up to 15-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Westside, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
