Softball Recap: Campo Verde Takes a Loss

If Campo Verde was riding high fresh off their 17-11 takedown of Pinnacle last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Campo Verde Coyotes came up short against the Desert Ridge Jaguars on Saturday, falling 13-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Coyotes have suffered since February 24, 2024.

Amaya Hernandez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Even though they lost, Campo Verde hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts every time they've taken the field this season.

Campo Verde now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Desert Ridge, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

While Campo Verde had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
