Baseball Recap: Buffalo Gap Gets the Win

Buffalo Gap's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Staunton Storm by a score of 7-2. The Bison haven't had any issues with the Storm recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Cal Loan was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Buffalo Gap is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-8 otherwise. Loan was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season.

In other batting news, Brandon Argenbright was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson McCall, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Buffalo Gap's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Staunton, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Buffalo Gap will be playing at home against Nelson County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Staunton, they will welcome Fort Defiance at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Storm surely won't give up without a fight.
