Basketball Recap: Gilbert Comes Up Short

Gilbert lost against North Polk back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Gilbert Tigers received a blow as they fell 62-47 to the North Polk Comets. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Comets are ranked second).

Gilbert's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for North Polk, the win keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.

Gilbert will face off against Boone at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Polk, they will take on Ballard at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Ballard: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while North Polk has snatched up 13 consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
