Baseball Recap: King's Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

King proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 11) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against King's Way Christian, sneaking past 6-5. For King's, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win King's Way Christian walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Nate Echelbarger was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Echelbarger wasn't the only one making solid contact: King's kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

King's pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.75 runs across that stretch. As for King's Way Christian, the loss snapped their winning streak at eight games and leaves them with a 12-4 record.

King's and King's Way Christian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings. The Knights will square off against Kalama at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (103 vs. 271). Meanwhile, King's Way Christian (ranked 77th) will meet Fort Vancouver (ranked 217th) at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
