Softball Recap: Highland Tech Sets Scoring Season-High Against Shelby

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Highland Tech). They never let the Shelby Golden Lions get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Rams, who have now won three matches in a row.

Highland Tech got a massive performance out of Meredith Bolick, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Bolick a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Prudence Hammond, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Highland Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .815. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Highland Tech's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Shelby, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Highland Tech beat Shelby by a score of 25-4 on Friday.
