Basketball Recap: Eastern Hancock Piles Up the Points Against Monroe Central

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sheridan, Eastern Hancock was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They blew past the Monroe Central Golden Bears 73-39. The Royals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 24 points or more this season.

McKenzie Koch continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 14 for 28 on her way to 41 points in addition to seven steals and six boards. Her afternoon made it 15 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Sotelo, who went 9 of 15 on her way to 18 points along with five assists and five steals.

Eastern Hancock was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monroe Central only posted six assists.

Several Golden Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Abe Ervin, who went 5 of 8 en route to 12 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Patterson, who posted ten points.

Eastern Hancock's record is now 13-2. As for Monroe Central, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

Eastern Hancock will have a chance to go back-to-back against Monroe Central: the pair will be back at it again later today.
