Baseball Recap: Warhill's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Warhill not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 27th (when they won 21-6). They blew past the Jamestown Eagles 16-5. With that victory, the Lions brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Logan Timberg, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. He has become a key player for Warhill: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least one home run, but 4-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Thompson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.

Warhill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Warhill's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-10. As for Jamestown, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Looking ahead, Warhill will square off against Denbigh at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Jamestown, they are taking a road trip to take on New Kent at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
