Softball Game Preview: First Flight Nighthawks vs. Columbia Wildcats

The First Flight Nighthawks are taking a road trip to challenge the Columbia Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

First Flight fell victim to Manteo and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Redskins. The loss was the Nighthawks' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Columbia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 16-0 to Bear Grass Charter.

Columbia's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for First Flight, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

First Flight took their victory against Columbia when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 17-2. Does First Flight have another victory up their sleeve, or will Columbia turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
