Basketball Game Preview: Antioch Sequoits vs. Lake Forest Scouts

The Antioch Sequoits are taking a road trip to face off against the Lake Forest Scouts at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Sequoits fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Monday's season opener. They took down Niles West 48-32 on Monday. The Sequoits pushed the score to 38-16 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wolves cut but never quite recovered from.

Antioch can attribute much of their success to Heidi Rathmann, who posted 19 points. Another player making a difference was Heaven Nix, who had seven points.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Lake Forest beat Guilford 37-31 on Monday.

Antioch came up short against Lake Forest when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 42-37. Can the Sequoits avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
