Baseball Recap: Fairview Has No Trouble Against Magoffin County

Fairview's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Magoffin County Hornets with a sharp 11-1 victory. Considering the Eagles' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Fairview got a great performance from Mason Lemaster as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Fairview let Tevin Smith and Xavien Kouns run wild. Smith scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Kouns scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Izaac Johnson was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

The win snapped Fairview's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-5 record. As for Magoffin County, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Fairview has already played their next match, a 4-1 victory against Portsmouth on the 2nd. As for Magoffin County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 22-1 loss against Butler on the 1st.
