Baseball Recap: Organ Mountain Sets Scoring Season-High Against Gadsden

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Organ Mountain). They were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over the Gadsden Panthers on Thursday. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by six runs or more this season.

Eric Gomez and Rey Ponce were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Gomez pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Ponce pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Gomez scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Ponce scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Ryo Rivera was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Another player making a difference was Sean Estenson, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Organ Mountain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.

Organ Mountain has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4-1 record this season.
